As an experienced Bergen County Child Support Attorney I am often asked if and when child support is terminated.
- Child support in New Jersey typically goes up until a child turns 18. However, it could go longer or shorter depending on some factors.
- Child support could continue until the child graduates college, assuming that the child goes to a four-year university or continuous trade school.
- Your child support could end earlier than that if the child gets married, joins the armed forces, or ends up working full time and not going to school at all.
Wondering how much longer you will have to pay child support for your children?
