New Jersey Domestic Violence Lawyer Explains the Other Options of Going to Trial

Clients often come to me as a New Jersey Domestic Violence Lawyer, and ask if their are any other options than going to a domestic violence trial.  You don’t necessarily have to go through a trial to get a final restraining order following a domestic violence situation. The alternative, called a civil restraining order, allows the alleged victim to voluntarily dismiss his or her domestic violence restraining order. In exchange, the attorneys and parties collaborate in identifying and resolving underlying issues in an effort to keep everyone safe moving forward.
