Mary Pat Kerrigan, Esq. has focused exclusively on matrimonial law since she began her legal career. Prior to entering private practice, she was a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Mark T. Janeczko, J.S.C., a Family Part judge in Bergen County from 2018 until 2019. During her clerkship, Mary Pat worked primarily on the FM docket dealing with pre- and post-judgment matrimonial matters.

Mary Pat received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University of Maryland where she majored in English Literature and minored in Secondary Education. It was during her student teaching experience in her senior year of college that she realized she wanted to switch gears from teaching to law in hopes of advocating for both children and adults in divorce proceedings. Mary Pat earned her Juris Doctor degree from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. While in law school, she worked at boutique firms in Westchester and as a student attorney for the Child Advocacy Clinic, representing victims of child abuse and neglect and immigrant children. She also competed at the Peter James Johnson‘49 National Civil Rights Trial Competition and National Trial Competition. Prior to joining the firm, Mary Pat worked at several law firms solely focusing on divorce, child custody, and domestic violence.

When she’s not in the office you can catch her chasing after her niece and nephew (they’re Irish twins!), playing tennis, and spending time with friends and family.

Mary Pat is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar and the United States District Court, District of New Jersey.
